What began as a small project for visual artist, Jennifer Marsh has grown into a much bigger initiative.
More than 3,000 3×3 panels were sewn together to cover an abandoned gas station in Syracuse, New York. This exhibit is the first of the World Reclamation Art Project (WRAP) from the International Fiber Collaborative and was designed to bring attention to the world’s dependence on oil. The panels are more than just crocheted, but every one is made by hand using some method of fiber arts – crochet, knitting, embroidery, hand woven, quilted, etc. A remarkable effort with some beautiful work by artists around the world.
